1 Cor. 15:57 "But thenks be to God ! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ " Here is four thoughts in this verse that I thought would encourage you.
1. Victory in Jesus is yours. God has no intention of allowing you to lose the battles of life. 2. This victory is something God "gives" us. We don't have to earn it . NO!! Just like salvation , victory is a free gift of God's grace. 3 As in true of so many things of God , victory is given us by God "through our Lord Jesus Christ "Thus the expression, and the title of the famous song : "Victory in Jesus " . So we may boldly proclaim "victory in Jesus ".
Romans 8:37 " No , in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us ". This verse repeats some of the themes of the previous verse and adds some more insights 1. Once again, victory comes through him "Jesus" 2. Against all foes , the Lord makes you "more than conquerors " 3. This victory in Jesus , this conquering, is broad -based and pervasive "in all things " 4. And this impowerment, this enabling to conquer, is an expression of Jesus love for us.
2 Cor. 2:14 "Now thanks be unto God , which always causeth us to triumph in Christ " 1. Again this triumph is in Christ. A daily close walk with Jesus is a source of great victory against the world , the flesh and the devil. 2. In the frist two verses we saw the words victory , conquerors and now we see the word triumph so the pattern is very clear . Victory, conquering, triumph - these are God's plan for those who receive and follow His Son Jesus Christ.
1. God gives the victory 2. He makes us more than conquerors 3. He causes us to triumph 4. He brings us these victories through Jesus Christ 5, Victory in Jesus is a free gift from God 6. This God given victory is broad-based 7. Ours is an "always" victory 8. We are made victorious because of Jesus's love for us. Finally remember to thank God for choosing you to be on the winning side.
