Heal Me Lord !!!

In Matthew 8:1-15 we find three instances of healing in these passage of scriptures 1. The Leper, 2. The Centurion , 3. Peters Mother-In-Law. Healing is an integral part of the atonement ! , It is an act of grace, mercy , and power of God !. Whenever you see healing it is an result of God's power and His design!.

1. The Leper : Leprosy was a incurable, fatal disease -very contagious- and very common in Jesus time. Jesus healed many of leprosy as you know lepers were declared unclean - they were not permitted to socialize - they were in quarantine. Leper colonies were a place where the infected went to die. This is what the leper said to Jesus " If you are willing, you can make me clean ". The man had faith in Jesus power , not the confidence in His willingness. Great teachers had developed a kind of aura about them that suggested that they could grant or not grant wishes upon people according to their whims. The leper was hoping to find the master in a willing mood !. Jesus is not moody ! He does not move when He feels like it ! He moves according to the divine will of God! He moves when God gets the glory, and when people will be convinced of His power and love. Jesus said " I am willing" . It is part of the atoning work on the cross that people get healed! Of course He willing -according to God's timing and divine providence.

2. The Centurion : He understood healing the best - Healing is the result of God's rule and authority ! He knew " The Word alone" was enough because he understood authorities!. The need was worthy , the centurion was worthy , the servant was worthy. But in the mind of the centurion , it was necessary that Jesus come because he had faith in Jesus 's relationship with the Father ! The servant was healed !

3. Peter's Mother-In -Law : Now she was sick with fever - Jesus touched her and then see what happens , she was healed and then she ministered to them !

So as Jesus touches us then we need to touch others not for our glory but His !

God doesn't love us because we are good, but because we are His. Be blesses and stay blessed.
